Aosta stands on the ancient Roman road of Gaul, strategically located and conquered by Rome in the time of Augustus. Its Roman name is Augusta Praetoria, today Aosta, the little Rome of the Alps, where one breathes the charm of another place, nestled between these marvellous mountains. We will venture through a city walk aimed at discovering symbolic remains.
Admission to the sites requires the purchase of the ‘Aosta Archaeology‘ cumulative ticket (€ 8.00), which includes access to the Roman Theatre, MAR-Regional Archaeological Museum, Forensic Cryptoporticus and the early Christian Church of San Lorenzo.
